This position is responsible for maintaining product availability, executing replenishment activities, supporting shipping and receiving, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The role works closely with customers, warehouse personnel, and internal teams to achieve targeted inventory levels, line-fill goals, delivery requirements, and service expectations. Responsibilities of the Customer Service Representative - Inventory Specialist include, but are not limited to: Receive and process customer orders and respond to customer questions regarding product availability, pricing, and delivery. Run replenishment routines and plan, order, and expedite stocked items through inventory management and procurement systems. Manage stocked items to targeted inventory levels and line-fill goals. Apply working knowledge of MRO, mechanical, industrial, and manufacturing products to identify suitable items, substitutes, and sourcing options. Create, transmit, monitor, and maintain purchase orders. Expedite open orders and coordinate corrective actions when product availability may affect customer requirements. Perform daily inventory and stockroom activities, including receiving, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and delivery support. Conduct cycle counts, inventory audits, and physical counts. Maintain accurate item, supplier, and inventory data within company systems. Respond promptly to customer concerns and coordinate with internal teams and suppliers. Maintain an organized and safe stockroom or warehouse environment. Support process improvement initiatives and special projects. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications of the Customer Service Representative - Inventory Specialist include, but are not limited to: High school diploma or GED required. Three or more years of inventory control, purchasing, order management, warehouse, MRO, manufacturing, or industrial distribution experience preferred. Experience supporting Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), consigned inventory, customer storerooms, or industrial vending programs. Experience supporting process improvement initiatives, customer implementations, or special projects. Experience analyzing inventory usage, fill rates, stockouts, supplier performance, and related key performance indicators (KPIs). Knowledge of industrial metalworking product categories and DXP product lines. Inventory and cycle-counting experience. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong customer service and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams. Experience with SAP or another ERP/WMS inventory management system. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Valid driver's license, where required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely perform warehouse and stockroom activities.
