Customer Service Representative - Drayage

About the Job We're looking for a highly organized, dependable CSR to keep a our client accounts running smoothly. You'll track every container from vessel arrival to empty return. You'll keep our system and customer reports up to date, and you'll make sure nothing slips past its Last Free Day or Per Diem date. You'll work closely with our dispatch team and communicate with clients mostly via e-mail; phone for emergencies. You will be trained on our systems and processes, some of which has AI integration. Responsibilities Track import and export containers daily and keep customer reports up to date. Watch Last Free Days, per diem and cut-off dates, and give dispatch a heads-up well before any deadlines arrive. Update customers on ETAs, holds, deliveries and empty returns by e-mail. Work with dispatch to schedule pickups, deliveries and returns. Follow up on missing information until it's in our system. Catch billing, data errors, and process accordingly. Keep accurate notes and records. What We're Looking For 1–3 years of customer service, dispatch or operations experience in drayage, trucking or freight. You know what LFD, demurrage and per diem mean, and why they matter. Comfortable in Google Sheets or Excel. Extremely detail-oriented. You double-check your work and proactively look to improve processes. Clear, professional communication via phone, in writing, in person. Able to maintain composure when encountering potential issues. High school diploma or equivalent. Nice to Have: PortPro or another drayage TMS, knowledge of LA/Long Beach terminals.
