Customer Service Representative

GMI Wheels is a Langley, BC-based Mining and Industrial wheel manufacturer seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR) experienced within a manufacturing , technical or shop environment and familiar with material planning concepts to join our sales team in a full-time, permanent role. Successful applicants demonstrate a willingness to take initiative beyond the ‘send email and wait’ mentality, are adept at managing priorities based on Customer needs, and provide a personable and informative approach in their communication with customers. This is not a remote position and is a non-commission role. Routinely following up with Sales staff and Customers on outstanding quotes or information requests. Proactively monitoring in-progress orders and updating Sales staff and Customers by attending production meetings, reviewing the production schedule and shipment tracking. Communicating timelines and production requirements to the Production and Engineering departments on behalf of Sales staff and Customers to determine order lead times. Assist with tasks such as price list creation and maintenance, updating contact data and content distribution. Branch Location Support Assist with branch location inventory management through routine stock checks, entering inter-branch orders and facilitating stock transfers. Assist the Sales and Production team with routing orders to other branch locations to help balance manufacturing capacity and geographic efficiency. Experience 2 Years in a Customer Service or Inside Sales role within a manufacturing, technical or shop environment . Experience in another industry will be considered if the applicant's current / past roles and responsibilities are sufficiently outlined in the resume. Mechanical aptitude or intuition is strongly recommended. Experience with ERP / MRP systems is desired. Requirements Good computer aptitude and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) knowledge. Comfort and familiarity of using a phone as a primary communication method. Clear , professional English (verbal and written) communication that adapts based on the audience. Excellent time management , follow-up skills and punctuality .
