PotekglassCustomer Relations & Shop Operations for a local MPLS Glass art and design shop. Experience with the glass arts is highly valuable but not strictly necessary. Potekglass is a glass art studio, retail glass supplier, and educational space that has been serving the glass arts community for more than 33 years. We are a small business with a broad scope of work, and we are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems, learning new things, and taking an active role in keeping a small shop running smoothly. The core of this position is customer relations and shop support . You will be one of the primary points of contact for customers visiting the shop, calling with questions, or participating in our classes. At the same time, there is an opportunity for the position to grow into a broader administrative and operational role based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and interests. We are looking for someone who is personable, organized, thoughtful, and comfortable figuring things out. Flexibility and problem-solving are especially important in this position. At a small business like Potekglass, no two days are exactly alike, and we value people who can recognize what needs to be done, prioritize effectively, ask questions when necessary, and take initiative. Schedule The position starts at approximately 24 hours per week , with the opportunity to expand based on qualifications, experience, and the scope of responsibilities. The initial schedule is: Tuesday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Thursday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM or 12:00 PM–8:00 PM Saturday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Core Responsibilities At its basic level, this is a customer relations and shop support position. Responsibilities include: Providing friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive customer service Helping customers select glass, supplies, and tools for their projects Answering customer questions in person, by phone, and through email or other written communication Helping customers work through questions or problems with their projects and purchases Completing retail transactions accurately and efficiently Assisting with inventory organization, stocking, and basic inventory management Helping prepare for and support classes and educational programming Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming retail and classroom environment Learning about stained glass and other glass arts in order to better assist customers Supporting the day-to-day needs of the shop as they arise Opportunity for Expanded Responsibilities For a candidate with additional experience or qualifications, the scope of the position can expand considerably. Depending on skill level and interest, additional responsibilities may include: Inventory management and purchasing Ordering retail and shop supplies QuickBooks Online management and bookkeeping support Class scheduling, registration, and administrative management Marketing and social media support Customer communications and outreach Other operational or administrative responsibilities based on the needs of the shop An exceptional candidate may have significant experience with QuickBooks Online, inventory management, retail operations, or small-business administration and may have the opportunity to take on substantial responsibility in these areas.
