Custodian - Warehouse (Part Time)

POSITION SUMMARY: Maintains a clean warehouse and office facility to assure workplace and food safety. Keeps detailed records of cleaning and maintenance activities performed for audit purposes. Supports the vision and mission of Shared Harvest Foodbank, facilitates both internal and external communication, and demonstrates a service-oriented work ethic that promotes teamwork, employee satisfaction, and employee retention . ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Performs general cleaning and maintenance inside and outside of facility as assigned. Work is performed in accordance with Good Manufacturing and Food Safety Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and other regulatory standards. Ensures timely execution and documentation of master cleaning schedule activities. Maintains detailed and accurate records Operates commercial equipment including floor scrubber, sweeper, and pallet jack (training provided) Cleans warehouse floors, walls, racks, equipment, and stored materials, utilizing approved, standardized cleaning agents as trained. Disposes of garbage following proper procedures Tracks cleaning supplies and replenishes bathroom supplies (soap, hand towels, etc.) Serves as an ambassador for the foodbank and its mission in the community. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work with a diverse group of people including volunteers and staff. Must have honesty, integrity, and a commitment to the Shared Harvest Foodbank mission. Ability to complete work in an accurate, effective, and timely manner. Six months minimum previous work-related housekeeping, janitorial, facility maintenance knowledge, or experience is preferred Ability to read labels and follow both written and verbal instructions. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in warehouse with a significant amount of walking on concrete surfaces. Work conditions during the summer months can be very hot, and during the winter very cold. Workspace could be dusty, and on occasions can be noisy due to the traffic of motorized vehicles operating in the building. Will be exposed to cleaning chemicals, spoiled food, and sharp objects. Work involves cleaning and must be able to lift, bend, stoop, pick up and move objects up to 30 to 50 pounds. Pay: $17.00 per hour Benefits: Flexible schedule Paid time off Work Location: In person
