Culinary Manager

The Rabbit Hole Bookshop & Cafe is looking for a Culinary Manager to lead daily operations of the café; providing from-scratch cooking, menu development, inventory management, and employee training. The Rabbit Hole Bookshop & Café is a cozy community-oriented business with high-quality coffee, soup, salads, sandwiches, crepes, pastries, and ice cream. Café tables are located throughout the bookshop and the greenhouse in back. There are 10 tables with 3 – 4 seats each, plus some outside seating. Key Responsibilities: · Lead, train, schedule, and support front-of-house staff (baristas) and back-of-house staff (sandwich makers, cooks). · Ensure smooth daily operations, including opening and closing procedures. · Create and maintain café menus in Square POS system, on-line website, and printed materials for use in the café. · Maintain high standards of food and drink quality, food safety, and cleanliness. · Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships. · Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally. · Monitory sales performance and support revenue growth initiatives. · Maintain labor and operational efficiency within budget targets. · Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented work culture. · Collaborate closely with The Rabbit Hole bookshop manager, events manager, and owner to design and execute creative campaigns that increase brand awareness and drive foot traffic to the café. Qualifications: · Two or more years of experience in café or restaurant management. · Proven ability to collaborate on community-facing programs, marketing campaigns, or event promotions to increase business traffic. · Active food manager certificate. · Experience cooking for a café or restaurant. · Strong leadership and team management skills. · Excellent communication and customer service skills. · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and problems solve under pressure. · Familiarity with POS systems and inventory management tools. · High school diploma required.
