Creative Merchandising& Buyer Manager

Bondars Furniture is looking for a creative, motivated, and commercially minded individual to join our team as our Creative Merchandising & Buying Manager . This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for furniture, interior design, and discovering new trends. You'll play a key role in shaping our product assortment, sourcing new merchandise, and creating inspiring showroom displays that reflect the evolving world of home furnishings. We're looking for someone who combines a strong creative eye with a solid understanding of retail, buying, and inventory management. This is a hands-on, varied position with the opportunity to bring fresh ideas to life and make a meaningful impact on our business. Key Responsibilities Buying & Product Development Lead furniture, artwork, accessory, and home décor purchasing. Attend furniture markets and trade shows to discover new products, brands, and trends. Source exciting new merchandise and identify opportunities to expand and refresh our product assortment. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers. Showroom Merchandising Oversee the overall look, feel, and presentation of our showroom. Develop fresh merchandising concepts, creative displays, and inspiring room settings. Coordinate regular floor moves, new product placements, and showroom updates. Ensure the showroom remains polished, current, and visually appealing. Inventory & Product Performance Monitor inventory levels, sales trends, and product performance. Ensure best-selling merchandise is consistently replenished. Identify slow-moving products and develop strategies for clearance or discontinuation. Make informed buying decisions that balance creativity with profitability. Digital Merchandising & Content Maintain website product content, including new arrivals, product imagery, and descriptions. Capture photos, videos, Instagram Stories, and other engaging content featuring new merchandise and showroom updates. Collaborate with our external social media agency on content ideas and product promotions. Manage website and chatbot inquiries. Oversee our Facebook Marketplace clearance listings and customer inquiries. What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years of professional design experience required , preferably in interior design, furniture, home furnishings, or a related field. Experience in furniture retail, buying, or visual merchandising is a strong asset. A strong eye for design, colour, styling, and current home furnishing trends. A creative thinker who can turn ideas into action. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. An understanding of retail sales, inventory management, and product performance. Confidence working independently, managing priorities, and taking initiative. Comfortable with digital platforms, website content, and social media. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to travel to furniture markets and industry events.
