Purpose

The Operations Specialist serves as a flexible, multi-site operational leader who provides interim Executive Director coverage for assigned communities and supports special projects, initiatives, and operational improvement efforts across Century Park. This role ensures continuity of leadership, maintains high operational standards, strengthens community performance, and supports Century Park’s hospitality focus, quality of care, resident-centered services, and financial objectives — all in accordance with state and federal regulations and company standards. Reports to Regional Director of Operations.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in relevant field of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ successful, hands-on management in hospitality-focused senior living industry required, including demonstrated operational success
  • Current state ALF licensure required at hire, or obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Valid driver’s license required• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage sensitive information and situations professionally


Primary Job Responsibilities

Below is a description of basic job duties though other related duties may become necessary as directed by supervisor The areas below are expectations for each assigned community:Serves as interim Executive Director for assigned communities during vacancies, leaves, or transitional periods


  • Provides leadership, stability, and operational oversight to ensure continuity of service
  • Supports community teams in achieving operational, financial, regulatory, and customer service expectations2
  • Ensures resident, family, and associate satisfaction during transitional leadership periods
  • Communicates regularly with the Regional Director of Operations regarding community needs and performance while onsite


Specific Requirements

  • Willing and able to travel regionally and locally (role requires frequent community site coverage)
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service and hospitality
  • Must be knowledgeable of procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to ALF/senior housingadministration
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service and hospitality at all times
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to make sound, independent decisions when circumstances require
  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to Century Park policies, including compliance and harassment procedures.
  • Exhibits integrity, professionalism, and adherence to Century Park’s Code of Ethics• Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and Outlook
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operational areas including leadership, financial operations, compliance, occupancy, residentrights, safety, and talent management.


Operational Support and Special Projects

  • Supports organizational initiatives, pilots, and special projects as assigned (e.g., operational rollouts, transitions, processimprovements)
  • Provides onsite assistance to communities experiencing operational challenges or performance deficits
  • Helps implement Century Park programs, policies, procedures, and service standards across communities
  • Submits required reports and updates timely and accurately



Financial and Operations

  • Maintains accountability for operational performance while serving in the ED role at any assigned community
  • Ensures the community operates within budget and meets operational and quality targets
  • Supports budget development, financial reviews, and implementation of corrective actions when necessary
  • Monitors operational systems including staffing levels, safety programs, and service delivery processes


Sales and Marketing

  • Supports occupancy growth efforts and ensures sales strategies are executed effectively during interim leadership
  • Ensures Century Park sales model is implemented successfully
  • Makes contributions by giving direction, vision and strategy to assist in achieving competitive advantage in senior living services in the area
  • Actively participates in sales and marketing events in assigned area
  • Ensures each community maintains a positive image in the greater community as well as positive relationships with business leaders and referral sources
  • Monitors curb appeal, tour readiness, and overall community presentation


Compliance

  • Accountable for regulatory compliance (i.e., federal, state, local)• Notifies Regional Director of Operations of any visits by state officials giving prompt attention to any cited deficiencies
  • Notifies Regional Director of Operations appropriately of concerns related to community, residents or associates


Talent Development

  • Provides guidance, coaching, and support to department leaders while serving onsite
  • Helps onboard newly hired Executive Directors or leadership team members through hands-on support and mentoring
  • Assists with staffing oversight, overtime monitoring, and retention efforts.
  • Partners with Talent Development regarding performance concerns or disciplinary actions as needed


Essential Functions

  • Must demonstrate effective, on-going and timely communications (verbal and written) with leadership, communities and Century Park departments
  • Must be able to train, develop, support, evaluate, and direct Executive Directors to ensure high quality resident care and services are delivered
  • Must ensure each community is compliant with all Federal, State, local, requirements
  • Must serve as effective representative of Century Park Associates
  • Must ensure all operational goals (including census, staffing, operating margins) are met
  • Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude
  • Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
  • Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
  • Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
