Posting Open: 10/31/2026 Posting Close: 11/09/2026 at 11:59PM EST Salary: Competitive Job Summary: The primary purpose of the position is to perform basic and recurring activities to support management support services functions. Routine support activities include, but are not limited to, day-to-day coordination, organizing, reviewing, distributing a variety of documents (mail and packages), and standard reporting according to procedures. Typical duties may include: Sorts incoming mail/items using bins for the appropriate buildings and mail stops. Delivers and picks up interoffice, USPS, UPS, Federal Express mail and other items upon request. Obtains signatures and maintains delivery records for special mail. Operates mail center vehicles to deliver and pickup mail at various locations including the U.S. Post Office. Responsible for the security of the vehicle and contents at all times. Driving routes may be 300-400 miles per day and involve evening and/or night shift work. Operates equipment to seal and apply postage to outgoing USPS mail. Determines classification of outgoing mail and calculates proper postage. Records customer short codes for high-volume mailings. Explains services and schedules to customers; resolves complaints. Observes and follows safe work practices; keeps the work area free from hazards; and informs the manager of existing and potential safety hazards. Supports environmental programs, e.g. recycling. Performs other related duties as assigned. Supervision Received: Works under direct supervision on new tasks and minimal supervision when following standard procedures. Skills & Proficiencies Ability to sort and classify mail. Ability to operate motor vehicle. Ability to apply procedures relative to packaging, weighing, and mailing materials. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to apply record storage regulations. Ability to plan and organize work. Ability to apply procurement regulations. Minimum Qualifications (Consistent with Classification Standard) Education and Experience/Certificates, Licenses, and Registration Requirements/Other Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of mail center operations/procedures/schedules. Knowledge of USPS and commercial carrier regulations pertaining to size, weight, mail classifications, rates, and schedules. License to drive a motor vehicle; maintain good driving record; and ability to pass TVA Defensive Driving course.
