Job Summary and Qualifications The laboratory courier assists physicians through delivery and retrieval of their charts, and patient specimens and provides clerical/physical support to other areas within the facility What you will do in this role: Demonstrates superior skills in transportation of records and specimens Always delivers and retrieves records to and from appropriate locations using established department procedures. Takes medical test results to physician offices for chart completion. Picks up laboratory specimens and transports to lab adhering to laboratory procedures for transport of laboratory specimens Delivers/retrieves other items as required Ensures that all records are retrieved / delivered in a timely manner Assists with other areas within the Facility as required ie. mail, deposits, etc. Answers telephone requests in a prompt, courteous, and efficient manner. Responds to pages in a timely manner (<10 minutes) Performs other duties as required Participates in marketing and business development initiatives Identifies opportunities for marketing and business development initiatives Creates an environment that implements the mission, vision and values of the organization Participates in activities that promote recruitment and retention of employees Participates in an environment that encourages collegiality while integrating new ideas/practices Integrates laboratory activities with other departments.
