As a Courier Driver, you'll be at the forefront of logistics, delivering freight and hazardous materials with precision and professionalism. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers to deliver freight across local, regional, or over-the-road (OTR) routes. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques while ensuring proper cargo securement in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to follow optimized delivery routes while maintaining punctuality. Comply with all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), and dangerous goods handling procedures during transportation and delivery. Manage vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with logistics protocols. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate route adjustments or address delivery issues promptly. Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle type being operated, with a clean driving record. Proven experience in delivery driving, truck driving, or freight transportation, preferably with refrigerated trailer or hazardous materials handling experience. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to truck driving. Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles and perform manual handling tasks related to truck loading/unloading. Experience with logistics cargo handling involving freight, hazardous goods, or specialty loads such as flatbed or tanker shipments.
