In this energetic role, you will be responsible for transporting freight, hazardous materials, and various cargo using specialized vehicles such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tanker trucks. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, route navigation, and cargo handling will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods. Transport freight, freight containers, or hazardous materials while maintaining compliance with hazard-specific regulations such as Hazmat protocols. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues, ensuring trucks are in optimal condition for safe operation. Document delivery activities accurately, including load & unload records, delivery logs, and incident reports. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to confirm delivery details and report any issues encountered during routes. Experience Proven experience in delivery driving or truck driving within logistics or transportation industries. Familiarity with refrigerated trailer operations, flatbed hauling, tanker trucks, or tractor-trailer configurations preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards, hazardous materials handling, and dangerous goods transportation is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission vehicles safely and efficiently. Experience with route driving using GPS navigation systems for over-the-road (OTR) routes is advantageous. Strong manual handling skills for loading/unloading cargo safely and effectively. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle type being operated; endorsements for Hazmat or tankers are a plus.
