Courier Driver

Job Summary Evans Brothers (EB) Courier is seeking a dynamic and dependable Courier Driver to join our logistics team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for delivering orders and packages efficiently and safely from Lake Charles, LA to Cameron, LA. Current delivery dates are scheduled for Tuesday and Fridays and could increase over time as we grow. This would be a great addition for someone already driving for other delivery services, giving you a little more structure and guarantee of pay. Responsibilities Must have reliable transportation with ability to pull small cargo trailer. Trailer will be provided by EB Couriers. Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel usage. Load and unload customer order with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring secure placement within the vehicle. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and maintenance needs are addressed promptly. Experience changing a tire and understands basic trailer and hitch operations. Must be comfortable to operate under various road and driving conditions. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and records of all individual orders in accordance with logistics handling procedures. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues on the road. Qualifications Valid driver’s license. Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning tools. Ability to travel with small cargo trailer. Trailer provided. Job shouldn't require advanced trailer travel skills, however, it would be good for driver to understand the basics, like backing up properly. Strong physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as load & unload activities; ability to lift heavy cargo when necessary. Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. Pay is $20/hour and gas is covered by EB Courier. This position is considered contract pay, 1099, and will pay within 24 hours of each delivery through electronic payment of your choice.
