Duties Safely operate a variety of vehicles including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers to transport freight across designated routes. Navigate using GPS systems to ensure the most efficient delivery routes while adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Load and unload cargo with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring freight is secured according to safety protocols and logistics cargo handling procedures. Comply with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or hazmat shipments, maintaining safety at all times. Manage over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, including long-distance deliveries, ensuring timely arrivals and departures while observing DOT regulations. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle inspections in compliance with FMCSA and hazardous materials regulations. Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure trucks are in optimal condition for safe operation. Qualifications Proven experience in delivery driving or freight transportation with a focus on truck driving or commercial driving roles. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat), tanker, flatbed, or refrigerated trailer as applicable. Strong knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including manual handling and logistics cargo handling. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) routes. Understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation), FMCSA regulations, and hazardous materials regulations to ensure compliance during all operations. Experience operating manual transmission trucks is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided if needed. Ability to handle dangerous goods safely and responsibly while adhering to safety protocols. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service excellence.
