Courier Driver

Job Overview As a Courier Driver, you’ll move freight safely and reliably between pickup and delivery locations. You’ll plan route driving with GPS navigation, protect cargo during transit, and communicate clearly about delivery progress. This role may involve commercial truck driving, over-the-road (OTR) routes, and operating vehicles such as tractor-trailers. Responsibilities Drive delivery routes and complete pickups and deliveries on schedule, following applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Load and unload freight using safe manual handling and logistics cargo-handling practices; secure cargo for transport. Your impact: Careful driving and cargo handling help customers receive shipments safely and on time. Inspect vehicles and report concerns before travel; follow hazardous materials and dangerous goods procedures when assigned. Operate relevant equipment and vehicle types as assigned, which may include manual-transmission trucks, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or automobile transportation vehicles. Experience Required: Valid qualifications for the assigned vehicle and route, safe driving practices, and ability to load and unload freight. Preferred: Delivery driver experience, route driving, commercial driving, truck driving, or tractor-trailer experience. Familiarity with GPS navigation, manual transmission, freight handling, and OTR driving is an asset. Hazmat experience and knowledge of hazardous materials regulations are preferred; requirements depend on assigned duties. Ability to follow applicable DOT, FMCSA, and dangerous goods requirements.
