Courier Driver

Responsibilities Safely operate a variety of vehicles including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers to deliver goods across designated routes. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems, adhering to planned routes and adjusting as necessary for traffic or road conditions. Load and unload cargo with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring secure placement in compliance with logistics cargo handling standards. Comply fully with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and other safety protocols related to truck driving and hazardous goods transportation. Manage over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, maintaining schedules and delivering freight on time while adhering to all safety regulations. Conduct vehicle inspections before and after trips, reporting any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly. Document delivery activities accurately, including delivery receipts, logs, and incident reports as required by company policies. Experience Proven experience in delivery driving or commercial truck driving, preferably with tractor-trailers or similar large vehicles. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, and freight transportation is highly desirable. Knowledge of route driving best practices and logistics cargo handling procedures. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type operated; experience with manual transmission is a plus. Understanding of FMCSA regulations, hazard materials regulations, DOT rules, and dangerous goods handling requirements. Experience operating GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and execution. Ability to manually load/unload cargo safely using forklift or other equipment if necessary.
