As a Courier, you'll play an important part in supporting patient care by ensuring essential supplies, specimens, and information reach the right place at the right time. We're looking for someone who takes pride in being dependable, organized, and willing to lend a hand wherever needed. How you’ll contribute A Courier who excels in this role: Pick up, transport, and deliver laboratory specimens, X-rays, medical reports, supplies, meals, mail, and other materials between hospital departments, clinics, and designated locations. Complete scheduled courier routes and respond to urgent (STAT) delivery requests as needed. Perform bank runs and other errands supporting hospital and clinic operations. Ensure all materials are handled, transported, and delivered safely, accurately, and in a timely manner. Follow established hospital policies, safety procedures, and infection-control guidelines. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and sensitive materials in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Communicate professionally with hospital staff, clinic personnel, and members of the public. Assist with various housekeeping duties as needed to support departmental operations. Work independently, manage priorities, and adjust routes or assignments based on operational needs. Support the hospital's commitment to service excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Perform additional duties as assigned. What we’re looking for Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, required. Additional requirements include: Valid driver's license with an exemplary driving record required. Ability to safely operate a vehicle and navigate routes throughout the local community. Strong time-management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with hospital staff, clinic personnel, and the public. Ability to manage multiple assignments, respond to urgent requests, and remain effective in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA, safety, and infection-control requirements. Basic computer and keyboarding skills. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials and supplies. Willingness to assist with housekeeping duties and other departmental needs as assigned. Schedule: as-needed PRN position; hours are not guaranteed and will vary according to departmental coverage needs.
