COURIER COORDINATOR
Appalachian Regional HealthcareOverview: The COURIER COORDINATOR assists with dispatching and reporting up-to-date route status for courier movement across Appalachian Regional Healthcare facilities designated as pickup and delivery points for laboratory specimens. This position also supports activities to ready relative supplies, equipment and data records are accurately maintained, tracked, and transcribed, accurately and consistently each day. This position reports to the Courier Supervisor. Responsibilities: 1. Daily, this role performs the following duties: a. Supports preparation of all equipment and accessories assigned to System Center for daily transport. b. Assists with record maintenance for all logs and pickups and deliveries (this includes driver name, locations, times, and materials) c. Establishes robust communications with lab sites and reports appropriate delivery times as required 2. Must produce consistent, timely and accurate work which supports the execution of the courier service. 3. At the start of each workday, assist with taking a head count to ensure adequate resources are available. 4. Reports any personnel shortages to supervisor to ensure vacancies are filled with urgency. 5. May be asked to perform periodic visits to hospitals to gain customer feedback and to promote customer service. 6. Assists supervisor with building courier schedules, as needed. 7. Consistently relays pertinent communication between all locations for program success. 8. May be required to provide backup courier services during after-hours. 9. Assist supervisor with ay administrative task, as needed. 10. Coordinates transport of courier assigned vehicles to and from repair shops or other sites as needed. 11. May be used to fill role for any routes as needed 12. Must have a valid driver’s license. 13. Can use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Required for All Jobs Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all ARH policies and standards Qualifications: Education (experience can be substituted for education) High School Diploma Required Work Experience (education can be substituted for experience) Two (2) years minimum experience in fleet management or the transportation industry. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities KSAs Proficiency Required / Preferred Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook. and Power Point. Must have good communications skills, both written and verbal. Must be mechanically inclined with a good working knowledge of the automotive industry. Should be organized with attention to detail. Must have the ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changes in their daily routine. License and Certifications Class “D” Driver’s License Required
