Counter Sales Manager, Bronx, NY (Building Materials Experience Required)

Summary/Objective: The Counter Salesperson is responsible for providing customers with outstanding customer service, which includes Point-of-Sale in-person, phone, and by email sales communication. You will need to be knowledgeable about lumber building materials and hardware accessories. Essential Job Functions: Ability to learn about our products and inform customers about products. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to learn how to use the Epicor Bistrack computer system Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask. Assist clients with finding the best products that suit their needs. Provides quotes and processes orders in an accurate and timely manner. Negotiate, confirm and accurately enter orders and quotes into our system. Quote follow up and inactive customer follow up Process returns and refund paperwork, including vendor returns. Monitor inventory to maintain appropriate product inventory levels. Purchase items for the store. Follow up on missing or delayed shipments. Day end register Close out Adheres to company policies, processes, and procedures. Maintain organized and clean counter area, store and stock area Other Duties: Occasionally Assist Customer in the yard or provide a yard tour as needed Other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Competencies: Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of inside sales experience required. Knowledge of building materials, Lumber, Plywood and Hardware 2 years of industry-relevant experience. Skills & Certifications: Bilingual Spanish/English Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Technical and computer skills. We will train on Bistrack Ability to manage multiple projects and multitask. Strong follow-up skills. Good verbal/written communication and organizational skills are essential. Good administrative and interpersonal skills. Working Conditions & Physical Demands : Physical demands include lifting, carrying, standing, kneeling, and walking, The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Lumber Yards and Hardware stores are busy industrial environments. Safety is our top priority. We operate trucks and forklifts. Applicants should be comfortable in industrial environments. Position Type & Expected Hours: Full-time position. Typical schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
