This position is responsible for the overall management, operational success, financial accountability, and regulatory compliance of the Kansas Correctional Industries Wild Horse Program. The incumbent oversees all business operations including program administration, grant compliance, contract management, federal reporting, budgeting, procurement, resident workforce supervision, and coordination with the Bureau of Land Management. A significant responsibility is administering and documenting program activities associated with federal and state funding, including Bureau of Land Management requirements and grant agreements. The incumbent ensures accurate financial, operational, inventory, production, animal, procurement, and compliance records are maintained and that required reports and supporting documentation are completed accurately and timely. The position integrates maintenance and correctional operations by coordinating resident worker assignments, maintaining safe and productive work environments, ensuring compliance with KDOC, KCI, facility, state, federal, and applicable regulatory requirements, and maintaining the equipment, facilities, and resources necessary for successful program operation. Minimum Qualifications : One year of experience in supervising production work in a manufacturing environment in the type of industry to be managed. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
