About the Role Responsibilities: Always maintain a safety-first mindset. Proactively collaborate and communicate across QUIKRETE operating companies and functional teams to identify transportation trends, opportunities, risks, and areas for continuous improvement Manage and monitor external carrier compliance requirements, including carrier onboarding, insurance and Certificate of Insurance (COI) requirements, operating authority, contractual documentation, and other required carrier qualifications. Maintain accurate carrier records and proactively address compliance deficiencies. Analyze transportation and freight spend data across operating companies, business units, plants, carriers, customers, and lanes to identify cost trends, variances, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Develop and maintain transportation reporting, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure freight spend, cost per load, carrier utilization, service performance, length of haul, internal versus external utilization, and other transportation metrics. Perform detailed trend, variance, and root-cause analysis to identify changes in transportation cost and operational performance. Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations for External Truck Operations and business leadership. Analyze external transportation utilization and identify opportunities to optimize the balance between external carriers and the internal truck fleet, supporting initiatives to reduce overall transportation expense and improve asset utilization. Support the integrity, accuracy, and standardization of transportation data within the Transportation Management System (TMS) and related reporting systems. Identify data-quality issues and work cross-functionally to implement corrective actions. Support and conduct transportation RFQ events across the network. Prepare freight spend analysis, lane profiles, carrier performance data, savings scenarios, rate targets, and other analytical information used in carrier negotiations and award decisions. Support carrier rate negotiations through market analysis, historical freight data, lane-level cost analysis, benchmarking, and development of recommended rate targets. Assist in resolving carrier issues related to rates, service, capacity, scheduling, compliance, and transportation system data while identifying recurring issues and opportunities for long-term improvement.
