Corporate Counsel - Tech Privacy & Procurement

The Corporate Counsel - Technology, Privacy and Procurement provides legal assistance and oversight on a wide range of projects, varying in complexity, in the areas of privacy, data governance, artificial intelligence (AI), digital innovation, IT operations, revenue cycle management and general commercial operations. Responsibilities include negotiating and drafting all forms of contracts and related documents while also supporting the strategic development of organizational policies related to IT, privacy, data security, and AI governance. This role actively and collaboratively works with business partners in Procurement/Vendor Management Office, IT Enterprise Architecture, IT Security, Compliance, Insurance/ Risk Management, Revenue Cycle Management, Finance, Managed Care, and Compliance. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Education/Experience: Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution 4+ years’ experience in a law firm or in-house legal setting. Healthcare experience preferred. Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one (1) U.S. state IAPP Designation(s) (CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT or AIGP) and/or CDPSE or related designations preferred Knowledge & Skills: Working knowledge and understanding of technology, contracting, privacy laws, data security and AI governance Working knowledge and understanding of healthcare regulations, including but not limited to the False Claims Act, Stark Law, and the Anti-kickback Statute Demonstrated experience in contract review, negotiation, and drafting Knowledge of key privacy, data and security laws and regulations, such as HIPAA, HITECH and state laws High-level analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills Excellent attention to detail and strong project management and organizational skills Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage a variety of projects simultaneously, meet aggressive deadlines and successfully handle urgent situations with patience and diplomacy An agile and flexible thinker, with the ability to learn emerging areas of the law and the business quickly Ability to function independently and as a part of a team Ability to build credibility quickly and provide strong legal support for a complex and challenging business, while positively and successfully managing relationships within a diverse group of stakeholders A commitment to personal and professional growth, and receptivity to feedback Experience working for a healthcare company Experience in developing or implement…
