Convenience Store Manager

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Convenience Store Manager to oversee daily operations at our retail location. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive retail management experience, and a comprehensive understanding of store functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring excellent customer service, efficient inventory control, and smooth operational workflows. The successful candidate will lead a team, manage sales targets, and uphold the highest standards of store presentation and safety. Duties Lead and supervise the retail team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff to foster a motivated and customer-focused environment. Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS system management. Manage inventory levels through purchasing, stock replenishment, and inventory control to minimize shrinkage and optimize product availability. Implement effective merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and drive sales. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards while maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Develop sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals while providing exceptional customer service. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally to promote customer loyalty. Monitor financial performance by managing payroll, budgeting, sales reporting, and bookkeeping tasks. Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, policies, and operational updates. Utilize negotiation skills for vendor relations and purchasing negotiations to secure favorable terms. Skills Proven management experience within the retail industry, particularly in convenience or grocery stores. Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills for team supervision and managerial communication. Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and basic math for daily operations. Experience with employee orientation, training & development, interviewing, recruiting, and payroll processing. Multilingual or bilingual capabilities are preferred to serve diverse customer bases effectively. Expertise in inventory control, merchandising, pricing strategies, and sales management. Ability to perform cashiering duties accurately while maintaining high levels of customer service. Skilled in operational management including shift management, budgeting, stock ordering, and store maintenance. Organizational skills with attention to detail for bookkeeping tasks such as cash handling and retail math calculations. Strong leadership qualities with supervisory experience in retail sales teams or assistant manager roles. Knowledge of grocery store operations along with phone etiquette for professional communication. Time management skills necessary for overseeing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
