ACQBUILT INCController A. JOB PROFILE The Controller is a hands-on financial and operational business partner responsible for financial stewardship, manufacturing cost control, cash flow management, performance analysis and leading the Accounting and Payroll team. Beyond accurate reporting, this role translates financial and operational information into practical decisions that improve productivity, margins, working capital and long-term profitability. The successful candidate is comfortable on the plant floor, challenges assumptions constructively and helps operational leaders evaluate alternatives and act on measurable results. B. AUTHORITY The Controller reports to the General Manager of ACQBUILT and works collaboratively with the Landmark Group Chief Financial Officer on financial reporting, liquidity, planning, controls and broader group initiatives. C. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Controller is accountable for performing the following core responsibilities and duties: Core Responsibility Operational Finance, Manufacturing Costing & Performance Partner with production, scheduling and procurement leaders; stay engaged with plant operations and key management decisions. Own manufacturing costing, including labour, materials, overhead, inventory, WIP and production variances. Challenge KPIs, assumptions and performance trends; identify opportunities to improve productivity, waste and margins. Translate financial and operational results into clear recommendations and practical improvement plans. Evaluate capital and equipment decisions, including repair vs. replace and lease vs. purchase, considering ROI and cash impact. Identify cost inefficiencies and track agreed corrective actions. Core Responsibility Cash Flow, Forecasting & Financial Planning Lead cash flow forecasting, liquidity and working-capital management; anticipate shortfalls and recommend solutions. Align forecasts with production schedules, purchasing and collections; coordinate funding needs with leadership and the Landmark Group CFO. Lead budgets, rolling forecasts and scenario planning; challenge volume, capacity and cost assumptions. Support profitability improvement initiatives and measure results. Core Responsibility Financial Management, Controls & Compliance Oversee accurate, timely financial statements, variance analysis and management reporting. Maintain effective controls over purchasing, inventory, costing, payroll and assets. Oversee AP, AR, payroll and benefits administration. Coordinate audit, tax and statutory reporting requirements. Improve financial systems, reporting and processes to support sound decisions. Core Responsibility Leadership & Collaboration Lead and develop Accounting and Payroll staff, including cross-training and clear accountability. Exercise independent judgment and constructively challenge decisions, including with strong personalities. Manage competing priorities and changing deadlines; communicate risks early. Build strong relationships between ACQBUILT operations, finance and the broader Landmark Group. D. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred. Progressive finance leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing Controller or operational finance role. Strong manufacturing costing, inventory/WIP, KPI, variance and margin analysis experience. Demonstrated cash flow forecasting and working-capital management expertise. Knowledge of financial reporting, controls, payroll, tax and ERP systems. Industrialized construction or prefabrication experience is an asset E.
