JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Contracts Manager Primary Function: The Contracts Manager manages MBN’s vendor, professional services, and independent contractor agreements from planning through renewal and close-out. The position works with requesting departments, HR, Finance, and Legal to ensure agreements reflect approved requirements and comply with MBN policies and applicable legal and grant requirements. For individual contractor agreements, HR coordinates SOW preparation with the requesting department and participates in fee and rate negotiations. The Contracts Manager incorporates the approved SOW and compensation terms into the agreement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following tasks are considered essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions: Develops annual and quarterly contracting plans and manages priorities, timelines, and upcoming renewals. Drafts all necessary contract documents using designated, approved templates, ensuring inclusion of provisions required by MBN policies, applicable laws and regulations, applicable grant terms, and the Legal team. Prepares solicitation documents and vendor SOWs in collaboration with requesting departments. Researches potential vendors, coordinates proposal evaluations, and conducts cost and price analyses to support contracting recommendations. Negotiates contract terms, pricing, and performance schedules as directed and within delegated authority. For individual contractor agreements, coordinates fee and rate negotiations with HR and obtains required approvals before finalizing terms. Prepares agreements, amendments, and renewals, incorporating HR-approved SOWs and approved compensation terms for individual contractors. Ensures all contracting actions comply with MBN procurement policies and established approval procedures. Communicates effectively across the organization to ensure business requirements are addressed accurately, on time, and in accordance with contract terms. Coordinates Legal review, internal approvals, and signatures by authorized officials. Maintains accurate, secure contract records and tracks obligations, expiration dates, renewal options, and notice deadlines. Monitors contract execution with relevant departments and initiates timely renewals, competitive solicitations, and close-out actions, coordinating individual contractor actions with HR. Reports contracting activity, escalates risks and performance concerns, supports audits, and recommends process improvements. Other Duties: Perform additional job-related duties and take on new responsibilities as needed based on organizational requirements and circumstances. Qualifications and Requirements: Candidates are required to have: Bachelor’s degree in business, procurement, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Demonstrated experience drafting, negotiating, and administering contracts. Knowledge of procurement procedures, contract terms, and cost and price analysis. Strong judgment, communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and contract tracking tools. Ability to manage competing deadlines, collaborate across departments, and protect confidential information. MBN is an equal opportunity employer.
