CONTRACT SPECIALIST with Security Clearance

You will provide on-the-job training to new employees, interns and lower level staff members.
You will serve as an Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO) or contract specialist.
You will monitor contractor progress and performance.
You will be responsible for determinations, decisions, approvals and contractual actions obligating the Government within your warrant authority.
You will ensure adequate funding is available to support contractual actions.

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
This is a bargaining unit position.
You will be required to obtain and maintain warrant authority above the small purchase threshold.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field C-Contracting Level I. If you are not certified you must achieve certification within 24 months of appointment.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing contracting functions (e.g. price/cost analysis, negotiation, pre-award, post-award, administration, closeout) for the acquisition of goods or services.Education may be used to substitute for experience with the following:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree; OR Successful completion of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
