The team also offers administrative support tasks that help clients navigate complex procurement requirements and improve operational efficiency. Role Description The Contract Specialist role is a contract, on-site position based in Reston, VA. The Contract Specialist will review and analyze federal, state, and commercial procurement notices, including RFQs, RFPs, RFIs, and Sources Sought, to identify opportunities and requirements. Day-to-day tasks include drafting and negotiating contractual agreements, supporting contract management activities, and coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliant, timely responses. The role involves maintaining organized contract files, monitoring contract performance and milestones, and providing clear communication and updates to leadership and stakeholders. The Contract Specialist will also assist with developing process improvements and best practices that support efficient procurement and partnership activities. Qualifications Strong analytical skills to review solicitations, assess requirements, and evaluate risks and opportunities. Experience in contract negotiation, including pricing, terms, and conditions with government and commercial entities. Proficiency in drafting, interpreting, and managing contractual agreements and related documentation. Background in contract management, including lifecycle oversight, compliance monitoring, and performance tracking. Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, partners, and clients, and preparing clear written responses. Experience working with federal and state procurement processes and familiarity with RFQ, RFP, RFI, and Sources Sought requirements is preferred. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Proficiency with common office software and contract management tools; prior experience in a small-business consulting or government contracting environment is an advantage.
