Can-Traffic is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team. You will be responsible for providing overall leadership and coordination of construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to required quality standards. This role provides direction and support to Foremen, crews, and subcontractors while working closely with Project Managers, clients, and management to ensure successful project delivery. The successful candidate must be comfortable managing multiple crews and priorities in a fast paced field environment. Experience coordinating subcontractors, reviewing drawings and specifications, managing resources, resolving field issues, and maintaining project schedules is essential. The role includes travel to project locations outside the Edmonton area, as well as occasional night shifts, weekend work, and out-of-town assignments as required. If you are an experienced construction leader who takes pride in building strong teams, maintaining high standards, and getting projects completed safely and efficiently, we would love to have you help us “Safely Guide Families Home.” What You Will Do Every Day Oversee day to day construction activities and field operations Provide leadership, direction, and support to Foremen, crews, and subcontractors Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule Schedule and coordinate subcontractors including hydrovac, directional drilling, and concrete Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements Monitor project progress, productivity, quality, and schedule Identify and resolve field issues and coordinate solutions with Project Managers Ensure Foremen and crews have the information, equipment, materials, and support required to complete the work Maintain communication with clients, contractors, suppliers, and management Review and ensure completion of timekeeping, field reports, redline drawings, and other project documentation Promote safe work practices and hold field teams accountable to company standards Participate in incident investigations when required Support continuous improvement in field operations, productivity, and project execution Travel to project locations outside the Edmonton area as required Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Minimum 7 years of construction experience Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience Experience leading Foremen, crews, and subcontractors Strong understanding of construction practices, scheduling, productivity, quality, and safety Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and project specifications Experience with traffic signals, street lighting, roadway electrical infrastructure, or civil construction preferred Valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake (Q) endorsement Leadership in Safety Excellence (LSE) certification required Journeyman Electrician Certificate or post secondary education in Construction Management, or related field considered an asset Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Company events Dental care Employee assistance program Extended health care Life insurance RRSP match Experience: Supervisory: 3 years (required) Licence/Certification: Class 5 Licence (required) Willingness to travel: 25% (preferred) Work Location: In person
