Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Construction Shop Manager to lead our manufacturing and assembly operations within our construction-focused facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient production workflows, maintaining high-quality standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. As the leader of the shop floor, you will coordinate cross-functional teams, optimize production schedules, and implement lean manufacturing principles to drive operational excellence. Your expertise in production management systems, supply chain analytics, and mechanical knowledge will be essential in delivering projects on time, within scope, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the construction shop, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet project deadlines. Lead and motivate a team of technicians, assemblers, and supervisors to achieve operational targets while maintaining safety and quality standards. Utilize manufacturing management systems such as SAP, ERP platforms, and MRP tools to monitor inventory levels, production progress, and supply chain logistics. Implement process improvements through lean manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Conduct data analysis using Microsoft Excel and supply chain analytics to identify bottlenecks, forecast demand, and optimize workflow processes. Collaborate with cross-functional departments including engineering, quality control, procurement, and logistics to streamline operations. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards through regular audits and staff training programs. Experience Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably in construction or heavy industry sectors. Strong knowledge of manufacturing management systems such as SAP or similar ERP platforms; experience with MRP is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively through team leadership skills and cross-functional communication. Expertise in process improvement methodologies including Lean management and Six Sigma certifications preferred. Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes, plant management, and quality control practices. Proficiency in data analysis using Excel for reporting on production metrics, supply chain performance, and operational KPIs. Familiarity with supply chain management principles and tools for optimizing inventory levels and logistics workflows.
