Blue Chip TalentBlue Chip Talent , in partnership with a public-sector organization, is seeking a skilled Procurement Agent – Construction . This role is responsible for executing mid-level procurement activities, supporting facilities and construction-related purchasing, managing supplier and contract activities, and helping improve procurement processes within an evolving organization. Job Duties Process procurement requisitions and execute purchases in accordance with established policies and procedures Solicit, evaluate, and compare supplier quotes for pricing, lead times, specifications, and contractual requirements Issue RFQs, purchase orders, and formal bid solicitations for goods, services, facilities, and construction-related needs Support solicitation activities including pre-bid meetings, bid openings, evaluations, negotiations, awards, and supplier debriefings Develop and process contracts and contract amendments while coordinating required legal, insurance, and risk reviews Negotiate supplier pricing, delivery terms, and commercial conditions within established purchasing authority Monitor supplier and contract performance and support corrective actions for quality, delivery, or service issues Analyze procurement data, supplier markets, historical pricing, and purchasing trends to support sourcing decisions and process improvements Skills & Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Public Administration, or a closely related field 5+ years of professional experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or contract administration Experience with indirect procurement supporting facilities, plant operations, construction, MRO, or similar operational environments Experience conducting supplier negotiations involving pricing, delivery, terms, or purchasing conditions Working knowledge of formal procurement methods including RFQs, ITBs, RFPs, or comparable competitive solicitation processes Experience creating, administering, or amending supplier contracts Proficiency with ERP, procurement, or financial management systems Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams Desired Experience purchasing MRO materials, facilities services, or supporting crib/storeroom management Experience supporting construction, capital improvement, or facilities-related procurement Experience with Workday procurement or comparable ERP purchasing modules Experience with eProcurement, sourcing, or solicitation management platforms Knowledge of public-sector purchasing regulations, competitive bidding requirements, or government procurement practices Experience analyzing purchasing data, supplier spend, historical pricing, or procurement performance reports Experience supporting supplier performance reviews and contract lifecycle management Experience participating in procurement system implementations, workflow testing, or process standardization initiatives Blue Chip Talent is an award-winning and woman-owned talent solutions provider based out of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
