For more information, please go to www.ttlusa.com. Construction Materials Laboratory Supervisor – Mobile, AL TTL is looking for a Laboratory Supervisor for our Mobile, AL operations. This is a chance to work long-term on the historical Mobile River Bridge project in Mobile, AL. If you have experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance testing of construction materials in a laboratory setting, then you might be a great fit to work on this flagship project! The duties of the Laboratory Supervisor include performing laboratory work in accordance with applicable ASTM and AASHTO standard procedures. You will work closely with our Senior Materials Engineer and the Construction Services group to perform laboratory testing, data management, and maintaining laboratory processes and procedures. Responsibilities Maintain relevant certifications or the ability to obtain certifications from regulatory agencies such as the American Concrete Institute (ACI), Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), and others. Develop and execute skills required for specialized laboratory and field-testing of construction materials (concrete, asphalt, aggregate, soils) Compile accurate and detailed data, reports, and laboratory analyses. Perform calculations utilizing basic mathematical skills. Ability to perform and validate computerized equipment and associated software to perform various laboratory testing. Perform and maintain routine calibrations of laboratory instruments and testing equipment according to manufacturer's instructions, company policies, and relevant ASTM and/or AASHTO standards. Effectively manage laboratory technicians and assist with training and professional development of new laboratory and/or field employees. The candidate will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining laboratory accreditation with AASHTO re:source and CCRL. Perform the testing for relevant ASTM and AASHTO standards during on site assessments and the proficiency sampling program (PSP). Demonstrates compliance with all required safety protocols within a laboratory setting. Requirements 5+ years of related experience performing laboratory testing for soils, concrete, aggregates, and/or asphalt. Relevant field experience with ALDOT certifications will also be considered. Relevant ASTM, ACI, ALDOT, etc. certifications to supervise an AASHTO-accredited laboratory. Proficient in Microsoft Office software, particularly: Word, Excel, & Outlook Experience in data managements software packages. Training will be provided for other laboratory and field-specific software. Communicate clearly, quickly, and professionally both orally and in writing internally and externally to clients.
