We are currently searching for a Construction & Maintenance Equipment Buyer to join our team in Santa Fe Springs. This position will be responsible for negotiating the best pricing and service contracts and purchasing equipment and fixtures that meet the Company’s quality standards. Responsibilities Responsible for negotiating the best pricing and service contracts and purchasing equipment and fixtures that meet the Company’s quality standards. Essential Duties: Conduct needs assessment with appropriate management to determine department objectives. Conduct a market analysis, by obtaining competitive bids, to determine best value for the organization. Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability and delivery schedules. Select products and services and assess vendor capabilities by testing, observing or examining such items and services with attention to cost guidelines and quality standards. Initiate and negotiate contracts with new suppliers and service providers; renegotiate contracts as appropriate. Coordinate with the Fixture Shop Manager in maintaining optimal stock levels for all inventoried fixtures and equipment. Monitor ongoing contracts and vendor performance. Other related duties and assignments as required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Materials/Procurement, Business, Logistics or related field. Experience: Five (5) years purchasing experience. Retail and/or supermarket field experience preferred. Highly proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email applications.
