Blue Chip TalentBlue Chip Talent, in partnership with one of our clients, is seeking a skilled Procurement Agent - Construction Buyer. This role is responsible for managing mid-level procurement activities for county facilities, including supporting strategic sourcing efforts, handling moderate complexity purchases, and building standardized processes in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Job Duties Manage procurement requisitions over $25,000 within Workday, ensuring compliance and accuracy Solicit and evaluate supplier quotes for goods and services, including construction-related projects Develop, issue, and support the evaluation of solicitations such as RFQs and ITBs Coordinate procurement meetings, including pre-bid, bid openings, and debriefings Draft and process contracts and amendments, working closely with legal and risk teams Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable delivery terms Monitor supplier performance, supporting continuous improvement and issue resolution Conduct market research and compile reports to guide procurement decisions Skills & Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Public Administration, or related field 6-8 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or contract administration Strong knowledge of procurement policies, laws, and best practices in public procurement Experience with contract development and lifecycle management Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems Demonstrated ability to negotiate pricing and terms with vendors Ability to navigate complex environments, influence stakeholders, and enforce policies Working knowledge of government procurement processes and structures Desired Experience supporting MRO or Crib Management within a facilities or plant environment Deep understanding of indirect procurement impacts on operational efficiency Ability to build and standardize procurement workflows in a transforming organization Familiarity with vendor performance reviews and supplier relationship management Knowledge of construction procurement processes and high-impact strategic sourcing Experience with system implementations and process improvement initiatives Blue Chip Talent is an award-winning and woman-owned talent solutions provider based out of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
