Job Overview: We're looking for skilled, safety-focused Concrete Mixer Truck Drivers to join our growing team. In this role, you'll be responsible for safely transporting and delivering ready-mix concrete to job sites across the Charleston and Greater Charleston area. We're looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, a team-oriented mindset, and a commitment to getting the job done right. Sign-On Bonus: $1000 after 90 days of employment $1000 after 6 months of employment $1000 after 1 year of employment Key Responsibilities: Safely operate a concrete mixer truck to deliver ready-mix concrete to construction sites. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure compliance with DOT and company safety standards. Communicate effectively with dispatch, batch plant staff, and job site personnel to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Commitment to professionalism and courtesy, both with customers and fellow team members Maintain proper handling and slump of concrete during transit and unloading. Keep accurate delivery records and daily driver logs. Willingness to keep our concrete mixer trucks in top shape, including cleaning and chipping as needed, and ensuring all fluids and tire pressure are at their prime. Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures. Minimum Job Requirements: Must have at least 2 years CDL driving experience Requirements: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL – Class B minimum). Prior experience operating either a front load or rear load mixer truck or similar heavy equipment preferred. Ability to read and understand delivery tickets and follow verbal instructions. Comfortable working in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment and various weather conditions. Strong focus on safety and teamwork. Must be punctual, dependable, and have a positive attitude. Physical Demands: Operating a ready-mix concrete mixer truck involves moderately to heavily strenuous physical labor, frequent climbing, and repetitive lifting. Cab Entry and Exit High Step Height: The cab seat is roughly 50 inches (over 4 feet) above the ground. Frequent climbing: Drivers climb in and out of the truck cab about 50 times per day. Three-point contact: Drivers must use three points of contact (two hands and a foot, or two feet and a hand) at all times while ascending or descending the steps. Chute Handling and Rigging Pulling down chutes: Lowering the main delivery chute requires pulling with roughly 45 to 60 pounds of force. Lifting extensions: Extension chutes weigh about 50 to 60 pounds. Drivers must lift them from stowed positions, carry them across rough job sites, and mount them onto the main chute.
