we are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to oversee DOT, driver, vehicle, and transportation safety compliance throughout our New York and New Jersey operations.
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on transportation compliance experience and strong working knowledge of New York State DOT, New Jersey DOT, FMCSA, and applicable federal motor carrier regulations.

ponsibilities:
• Maintain compliance with NYSDOT, NJDOT, FMCSA, and USDOT regulations
• Manage and audit Driver Qualification Files (DQF)
• Maintain New York Article 19-A driver compliance
• Monitor CDL, medical certificates, MVRs, endorsements, and driver eligibility
• Manage Hours of Service (HOS), ELD records, and driver log audits
• Review roadside inspections, violations, citations, and corrective actions
• Handle DataQ challenges and compliance documentation
• Maintain vehicle inspection, maintenance, and DOT compliance records
• Monitor annual and periodic vehicle inspection requirements
• Prepare for DOT audits, compliance reviews, and safety inspections
• Review accidents and incidents and ensure proper DOT documentation
• Coordinate post-accident and random drug and alcohol testing requirements
• Maintain required FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse compliance
• Conduct internal compliance and safety audits
• Develop corrective-action plans for identified compliance deficiencies
• Monitor driver safety performance and disciplinary actions
• Assist with driver safety meetings and compliance training
• Maintain organized records that are audit-ready at all times
• Keep management informed of regulatory changes affecting transportation operations
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years of transportation/DOT compliance experience
• Strong knowledge of New York DOT laws and regulations
• Strong knowledge of New Jersey DOT laws and regulations
• Working knowledge of FMCSA regulations
• Experience with Article 19-A requirements
• Experience with HOS and ELD compliance
• Knowledge of CDL driver qualification requirements
• Experience handling DOT inspections, violations, and audits
• Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills
• Ability to identify compliance issues and implement corrective actions
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Comfortable working directly with drivers, dispatch, operations, maintenance, and senior management
Preferred Experience:
Experience working with a bus, motorcoach, passenger transportation, shuttle, limousine, or charter transportation company is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Samsara or similar fleet safety/ELD systems is a plus.

We are looking for a Compliance Manager who is proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining a strong compliance program across a growing transportation operation. This position requires someone who understands both the regulations and the day-to-day operational realities of managing a commercial passenger transportation fleet.

Work Location: In person
Pay: $67,249.90 - $80,989.13 per year
