Core Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement & Market Analysis

  • Commodity Buying: Execute daily high-volume buying across a diverse portfolio of fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor global and local trends, seasonality, and supply conditions to ensure competitive and timely purchasing.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain precise product descriptions, real-time pricing, and category specifications within internal procurement systems.

Operational Excellence

  • Sales & Supply Synergy: Partner closely with the sales team to anticipate customer needs and ensure 100% product availability.
  • Inventory Optimization: Collaborate with the broader procurement team to balance stock levels, minimizing shrink while maximizing freshness.
  • Quality Assurance: Rigorously ensure that all incoming products meet the high-quality standards and specifications expected by a large-scale distributor.

Relationship & Negotiation

  • Vendor Management: Build and leverage strong relationships with world-class growers and vendors.
  • Negotiation: Expertly negotiate pricing and terms to drive value without compromising on quality or ethical standards.

Mandatory Qualifications

To be successful in this high-stakes environment, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Industry Expertise: A minimum of 3–4 years of direct Produce Buying experience is required. You must have a deep understanding of produce categories, shelf-life management, and market dynamics.
  • Large Company Background: Proven experience working within a large-scale organization. You understand the complexities, volume requirements, and professional standards of a major corporate entity.
  • Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, time-sensitive setting.
  • Skills: Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, coupled with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and inventory software.
