Role Description This full-time, on-site Commodity Manager - Electronics role is based in the Greater Chicago Area. The Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for electronic components and assemblies, including supplier selection, negotiation, and performance management. Daily activities include analyzing market trends and cost drivers, managing supplier relationships, monitoring inventory and lead times, and coordinating with engineering, operations, and finance to ensure supply continuity and cost optimization. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams on new product introductions, resolving supply chain issues, and maintaining compliance with aerospace industry standards and company policies. The Commodity Manager will also prepare reports, track key metrics, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain organization. Qualifications Strong foundation in Electronic Engineering and Electronics, with the ability to understand component specifications and technical requirements. Background in Electrical Engineering, supporting collaboration with design and engineering teams on electronic hardware needs. Demonstrated Analytical Skills for cost analysis, market research, supplier performance evaluation, and data-driven decision-making. Proven Team Management capabilities, including cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder communication, and coordination with internal and external partners. Experience in commodity management, supply chain, or procurement within electronics or aerospace industries is beneficial. Knowledge of contract negotiation, supplier risk management, and quality standards for electronic components. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Ability to work on-site in the Greater Chicago Area and engage with manufacturing, engineering, and supplier teams as needed.
