Blue Chip Talent , in partnership with an automotive manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Commodity Buyer - Raw Materials (Metal) . This role is responsible for supporting divisional purchasing of metals and raw materials across multiple product lines, developing segment purchasing strategies, evaluating suppliers, and managing vendor relationships throughout the supplier lifecycle. Job Duties Develop purchasing strategies for metals and raw materials Evaluate supplier quotes, costs, and savings opportunities Manage supplier selection and vendor relationships Support global sourcing, negotiations, and cost-reduction initiatives Monitor raw material trends and manufacturing technologies Partner with Supplier Quality on supplier improvement initiatives Skills & Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field Purchasing, sourcing, or commodity management experience Knowledge of metals, raw materials, and market trends Understanding of engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements Experience with supplier negotiations and quote analysis Project management experience Desired Automotive or high-volume manufacturing purchasing experience Metals or raw material sourcing experience Strategic or segment purchasing experience Knowledge of supplier quality practices Global or multi-site sourcing experience Blue Chip Talent is an award-winning and woman-owned talent solutions provider based out of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
