Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems using automotive diagnostic tools and equipment. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, and suspension repairs to keep vehicles operating efficiently. Repair and replace critical components including shocks & struts, air brakes, HVAC systems, RV electrical systems, plumbing systems, and welding or soldering as needed. Troubleshoot basic vehicle issues through mechanical and electrical diagnostics to identify root causes swiftly. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed, ensuring compliance with safety standards and warranty requirements. Assist with assembly, equipment repair, heavy lifting tasks, and general maintenance activities to support fleet readiness. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair needs clearly and offering technical advice when necessary. Qualifications Proven dealership or service technician experience working with heavy-duty diesel trucks or commercial vehicles. Strong electrical repair skills with experience in automotive electrical systems and RV electrical system diagnostics. Mechanical knowledge encompassing transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension work, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and tire service. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and basic carpentry skills for minor repairs or modifications. Experience in automotive diagnostics using specialized equipment to identify mechanical or electrical issues accurately. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environments; familiarity with vehicle assembly and equipment repair is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Additional nice-to-have skills include RV plumbing system repair, auto body repair experience, basic plumbing system maintenance, auto electrical system troubleshooting, sales aptitude related to parts or services, and HVAC system knowledge.
