Commercial Trucking & Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster

A specialized claims role with a close-knit, experienced team. Eastern Atlantic Insurance is a family-owned company that has served clients from Harrisburg since 1986. We are looking for an experienced Claims Adjuster to join a supportive claims department made up of a manager, an assistant manager, and three adjusters. You will have direct access to claims leadership, the opportunity to handle varied and meaningful work, and a team that values practical judgment, open communication, and helping one another succeed. This is a full-time, in-office position in Harrisburg, Monday through Friday. Although remote and hybrid arrangements are not available, the on-site structure gives you ready access to decision-makers and the day-to-day support of a small, experienced team. What you’ll do Investigate, evaluate, and resolve first- and third-party claims, including bodily injury and litigated matters. Analyze coverage, liability, damages, and claim exposure to determine an appropriate course of action. Communicate professionally with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, medical professionals, vendors, and other parties. Negotiate and resolve claims within your authority, escalating larger exposures to the Claims Manager for review. Maintain timely, accurate claim-file documentation that supports decisions and outcomes. Prioritize multiple assignments and deadlines while contributing to a collaborative, close-knit team. What you need to succeed Must have: At least two years of claims-handling experience that includes bodily injury and commercial trucking claims. Must have: A Texas or Florida home-state adjuster license. A high school diploma or equivalent. Clear written and verbal communication, sound negotiation skills, and the ability to organize competing priorities. A collaborative approach and confidence making well-supported claim decisions. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Helpful, but not required: A bachelor’s degree, general liability experience, or additional applicable adjuster licenses.
