Responsibilities Operate commercial trucks for over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring adherence to all safety standards and DOT regulations. Conduct deliveries across designated routes, managing the transportation of goods efficiently and securely. Handle truck loading and unloading processes, including securing loads appropriately for safe transit. Transport automobiles and other cargo using flatbed or specialized truck equipment as required. Drive manual transmission trucks with skill and precision, maintaining control under various road conditions. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT requirements. Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure optimal truck performance. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues promptly. Qualifications Must own your own truck. Proven commercial truck driving experience, including over-the-road (OTR) routes and delivery driving. Valid CDL with appropriate endorsements for the equipment and freight being transported. Knowledge of DOT regulations and commercial trucking safety standards. Proficiency operating manual transmission trucks. Knowledge of load securement for flatbed and automobile transportation, as applicable. Excellent driving record and commitment to safety and compliance. Physical ability to load and unload cargo as needed, including heavy or bulky items. Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
