Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. This job intel's delivering seafood to Atlanta every mid week while also picking up freight in Virginia at the beginning and or end of the week up to 5 times per month. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and commercial trucks with automatic/manual transmission across designated routes, including OTR routes. Transport freight such as refrigerated seafood. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques or truck loading equipment, ensuring proper securing of freight to prevent damage during transit. Utilize GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments to optimize delivery schedules. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and safety equipment to ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving within logistics cargo handling environments. Demonstrated ability to operate refrigerated trailers or other specialized equipment safely and efficiently. Familiarity with FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards is highly desirable. Experience with manual handling of freight and truck loading/unloading processes. Strong knowledge of GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time navigation support. Prior experience transporting freight over long distances or across state lines is preferred. Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record is essential.
