Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers on over-the-road (OTR) routes while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods. Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across assigned routes. Load and unload freight, including logistics cargo handling for various types of cargo such as freight, hazardous materials, or specialized equipment like automobile transportation units. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with FMCSA regulations. Maintain accurate documentation for delivery logs, load & unload records, and incident reports in accordance with DOT regulations. Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials and dangerous goods according to safety protocols. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route changes, delivery schedules, or vehicle issues to optimize route driving efficiency. Experience Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record demonstrating experience in commercial truck driving. Proven experience with delivery driving and route driving across long distances or regional routes. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and automobile transportation equipment. Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations. Hands-on experience with truck loading and unloading procedures, manual handling techniques, and logistics cargo handling. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently while maintaining safety standards during truck driving activities. Prior experience working with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and execution.
