Duties Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions across designated routes, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, handling various cargo types including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and freight requiring special handling Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each trip Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery schedules while adhering to hours-of-service regulations Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit, especially when transporting sensitive or oversized loads Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery times, route changes, or issues encountered on the road Qualifications Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and experience operating tractor-trailers with manual transmissions Proven truck driving experience with a focus on freight delivery and route driving in diverse environments Ability to handle various vehicle types including dump trucks, and roll-off trucks Skilled in load securing techniques Strong understanding of safety protocols related to commercial driving and cargo handling Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently under time constraints Physical ability to perform vehicle inspections regularly Embark on a rewarding career where your driving skills make a tangible impact!
