Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, across over-the-road (OTR) routes while complying with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and hazardous materials regulations. Navigate using GPS systems to ensure efficient route planning and timely deliveries. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of cargo such as hazardous materials or dangerous goods. Transport automobiles or other specialty freight with care, maintaining vehicle integrity and safety standards. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Manage delivery documentation accurately, including bills of lading, manifests, and inspection reports. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or safety concerns. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license. Hands-on experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, or automobile transportation preferred. Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and manual handling procedures. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials handling, and dangerous goods transportation. Demonstrated ability to navigate using GPS navigation systems on long-haul routes. Prior delivery driving experience involving freight management and route driving.
