Pavement SolutionsJob Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving, to deliver freight efficiently and securely. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials will ensure compliance with all safety regulations while maintaining excellent customer service. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers on diverse routes, including OTR driving routes, adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Transport freight such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, and other cargo types using appropriate trailers like flatbeds or tankers. Use GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes and ensure timely deliveries while adjusting for traffic or road conditions. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo while complying with hazardous materials regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or safety concerns. Qualifications Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and proven experience in commercial truck driving. Demonstrated expertise in driving tractor-trailers with manual transmissions and handling various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialized equipment. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to truck driving and cargo handling. Experience with route driving, delivery driving, freight transportation, and logistics cargo handling. Ability to manually handle heavy loads during loading/unloading processes while following safety procedures. Strong navigation skills using GPS systems for route planning and execution. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and customers.
