Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks to transport goods across various routes, primarily focusing on over-the-road (OTR) driving. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and timely delivery, ensuring that freight reaches its destination efficiently and securely. Responsibilities Operate commercial trucks with CDL A license to transport freight over long distances across multiple states or regions. Manage over-the-road (OTR) routes, adhering to scheduled delivery times and route plans. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with transportation regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and cargo documentation in accordance with federal and state regulations. Ensure the secure loading and unloading of cargo, verifying accuracy against shipping manifests. Follow all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies during transit. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered on the road. Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly. Experience Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record. Prior experience in commercial truck driving, particularly over-the-road (OTR) routes preferred. Knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations and safety standards. Ability to operate large commercial vehicles safely over long distances under varying conditions. Strong organizational skills for managing schedules, logs, and cargo documentation. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and clients.
