Commercial Driver's License A Truck Driver

Overview As a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A Truck Driver, you’ll move freight safely and reliably using tractor-trailers across local and over-the-road (OTR) routes. You’ll plan trips with GPS navigation, follow applicable transportation and hazardous materials rules, and handle cargo with care. Your impact: Safe, timely deliveries help customers receive the freight they need while protecting the public and cargo in transit. Duties Drive commercial trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, as assigned; transport automobile shipments when needed. Complete delivery driving and route driving, including OTR routes, while following planned routes and delivery instructions. Load, unload, secure, and inspect freight; perform manual handling and logistics cargo handling as required. Operate manual-transmission vehicles when assigned and report vehicle, cargo, or route concerns promptly. Follow Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including hazardous materials regulations when transporting hazmat or other dangerous goods. Skills Required: Valid CDL Class A and safe commercial truck driving, commercial driving, and tractor-trailer operation. Required: Knowledge of driving practices, freight handling, truck loading and unloading, and applicable safety procedures. Preferred: Delivery driver experience, GPS navigation skills, and experience with refrigerated trailers, automobile transportation, flatbeds, or tankers. Preferred: Experience with OTR driving routes, manual transmission, logistics cargo handling, and hazmat or dangerous goods. Work Location: In person
