Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks with manual or automatic transmissions across OTR routes, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards. Load and unload freight efficiently, utilizing proper manual handling techniques and ensuring cargo integrity during transport. Navigate using GPS systems to optimize delivery routes while maintaining punctuality and efficiency. Transport a variety of freight including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, or specialty loads such as flatbed or tanker shipments. Comply with all hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols during transportation and handling of dangerous goods. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck maintenance, safety compliance, and load security. Document delivery activities accurately through logs, manifests, and incident reports; communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route progress or issues. Load & unload cargo at multiple locations while maintaining high standards of safety and manual handling procedures. Ensure all deliveries meet customer expectations for timeliness and condition; handle any delivery issues professionally. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized freight transportation is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for trucking operations. Experience with route driving across long distances on over-the-road (OTR) routes preferred. Demonstrated ability to handle logistics cargo safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes. Prior delivery driver experience involving freight handling and route management is advantageous.
