Commercial Driver's License A Truck Driver

Position Overview The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for safely transporting, delivering, and picking up rental equipment to and from customer job sites and A1 Equipment Rental locations. This position requires operating commercial trucks and trailers, safely loading and securing equipment, and providing professional customer service. Key Responsibilities 1. Equipment Delivery & Pickup Deliver and retrieve rental equipment safely and on schedule. Load, unload, and properly secure equipment for transportation. Operate trucks, trailers, and rental equipment as necessary. Verify equipment and accessories against delivery and pickup paperwork. 2. Vehicle Operation & Safety Operate company trucks and trailers in compliance with DOT regulations. Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Maintain proper load securement and weight distribution. Report vehicle defects, accidents, damage, and safety concerns immediately. Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection records, and other required documentation. 3. Equipment Handling Safely operate equipment, including skid steers, excavators, lifts, forklifts, and other rental machinery. Inspect equipment for visible damage during pickup and delivery. Document and report missing accessories, damage, or operating issues. Follow company procedures for equipment handling and job-site safety. 4. Customer Service & Operations Communicate professionally with customers and job-site personnel. Coordinate deliveries and pickups with dispatch and rental coordinators. Obtain required signatures and accurately complete delivery documentation. Assist with yard operations, equipment organization, and other duties when not driving. Keep assigned trucks, trailers, and equipment clean and presentable. Job Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Current DOT medical certification, as required. Acceptable driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements. Knowledge of DOT regulations, load securement, and safe commercial vehicle operation. Experience operating trucks with equipment trailers, including step-deck trailers, preferred. Ability to safely load and operate various types of construction and rental equipment. Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and communicate effectively. Ability to perform physical work, including climbing on equipment, securing loads, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to pass required DOT drug and alcohol testing. Performance Expectations The driver is expected to prioritize safety, on-time deliveries, proper equipment handling, and customer satisfaction while helping maintain efficient daily operations.
